Shot by Dr. Jim Bales and Kyle Hounsell at the MIT Edgerton Center, this triptych captures a Prince Rupert’s Drop as a fracture has travelled: (1) part of the way through its body; (2) all of the way through its body before any of the particles have had time to move; and (3) as the particles begin to explode outward.
